The fourth session of the China Textile Machinery & Equipment Industry Association was held in the last week of February in Tianjin, which was attended by high-level managers from more than 150 textile enterprises.
At the meeting, Mr. Gao Yong, Vice-Chairman of the China Textile Industry Association and President of China Textile Machinery & Equipment Industry Association gave a detailed analysis on current international and domestic situation.
He also spoke of the textile industry under the shadow of the financial crisis, as well as the future development direction of China's textile machinery industry. According to him in 2009, market demand will shrink further.
Exports will face an even grimmer situation, which will redirect most of the activities towards domestic markets which will directly lead to an increase in competition in the domestic markets of China, he said.
Relatively speaking, with the introduction of state's policies to expand domestic demand, the domestic market is expected to maintain stable growth, which will help the machinery industry and enhance industry growth, he added by saying.
Gao Yong pointed out that a plan has proposed to set up a special fund, which will focus on supporting advanced technologies in spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing, chemical fiber industries, in order to promote high-tech fibres.
In addition, the plan also proposes to promote the application of industrial and technical textiles, which is expected to become the new economic growth engine for the textile machinery industry in the country.
The development of these textile machinery products mainly for non-wovens and other applications of technical textiles will chart the direction and development of China's textile machinery industry in the next three years.
