Buyers for China dominated this week's sales (including at the fine end), with support from India and Europe. The presence of buyers for Europe was more noticeable this week.
Sales will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle next week, when 45,336 bales are currently rostered for sale. Present estimates for the following two sales are 44,370 and 45,800 bales, respectively. Year-on-year comparisons are not meaningful as there was no sale in Week 39 last year due to Easter.
In South African sales, where 10,163 bales were on offer, the Cape Wools Indicator was down by 3.2% since last week against a 2.1% appreciation of the Rand against the US Dollar and a 0.8% appreciation against the Euro.
