Buyers for China dominated this week's sale, with support from India and Europe. The presence of buyers for Europe was more noticeable, as was the case last week.

Sales will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle next week, when 45,336 bales are currently rostered for sale. Present estimates for the following two sales are 44,370 and 45,800 bales, respectively. Year-on-year comparisons are not meaningful as there was no sale in Week 39 last year due to Easter.

The New Zealand Merino Company will offer 970 bales in Melbourne next week.

In South African sales, where 7,396 bales were on offer, the Cape Wools Indicator was up by 2.1% since last week against a 4.1% appreciation of the Rand against the US Dollar and a 1.5% appreciation against the Euro.
