During January 2009, textile and garment exports from Thailand to Vietnam saw a downtrend, as the turnover stood at US$ 14.1 million, a fall of 13 percent in comparison with same period of last year.
Of the total export turnover, textile products accounted for $13.7 million, down 13.8 percent y-o-y. However, shipments of garments rose 33.3 percent when compared with the same period of 2008, amounting to $ 0.4 million.
Exports of fabric ranks first in value from amongst all goods exported to Vietnam totaling to $6 million and rose by 25 percent y-o-y, followed by yarn $1.8 million, down 18.2 percent and fibre $3.8 million, down 42.4 percent.
