DOMOTEX Middle East, the only dedicated carpets and floor coverings exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA), is glad to announce that demand for carpets and floor coverings will remain strong in the long term as reflected by the enthusiastic market response for the upcoming DOMOTEX Middle East 2009, which will be held at the Dubai nternational Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 17 to 19.

The region's commercial and residential property sectors, which are going through a period of slower growth, are expected to recover strongly in the latter half of this year, presenting numerous opportunities for carpet and floor covering businesses. Key markets in the Middle East such as Qatar, according to an International Monetary Fund (IMF) report, are expected to again have a strong macroeconomic performance this year, which will help keep demand for carpets and floor coverings flowing despite the effects of the economic downturn.

Also the positive developments in the UAE, including a recent USD 20 billion bond program by Dubai that has drawn strong support from the Central Bank and the Federal Government, is expected to help sustain the emirate's long-term development initiatives.

The outlook for DOMOTEX Middle East is promising. With growing demand and the increasing number of players a healthy growth is foreseen for the coming years. The need for an efficient platform where the industry can have an overview of what types of flooring is available in the Middle East has become obvious. Therefore, make sure you don't miss out on DOMOTEX Middle East 2009 - the leading trade only flooring platform in the Middle East!

Special events at DOMOTEX Middle East 2009
Additional value has been created at DOMOTEX Middle East via two special events. The feedback about last year's Designers Corner and Creative Flooring was very positive from the visitors who felt that useful information was given, new ideas were formed and practical solutions for their business were presented: therefore an extra reason for architects, designers and decorators to come to DOMOTEX Middle East. A new event for 2009 will be the Flooring Seminar organized by the Association of Professional Interior Designers.

Creative Flooring is the “how-to” demonstration area where the latest techniques and a wide variety of flooring products are presented by professional installers and trainers from the UK. To install a floor especially in hotels and offices needs special attention. Therefore, Hotel and Office Flooring will be the theme for Creative Flooring 2009. A hotel and office floor will be created with products from the Creative Flooring sponsors.

Also in 2009, architects and designers are welcome to attend showcase seminars and displays of design flooring in this event that was held for the first time in 2008. The designers lounge will be the central part of the corner where the activities (seminars plus showcase of reference projects) will be presented and adjacent to the lounge suppliers of design flooring will be exhibiting their design products. The Designers Corner is supported by the American University in Dubai (AUD) and the Association of Professional Interior Designers (APID).
