The number of trade disputes registered with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) has ascended tremendously in 2008 that too more so in the first half, with the textiles sector recording the second highest number of probes.
In the first half of 2008, trade disputes related to textiles brought forth to the WTO rose by 39 percent to reach 20 in number when compared with the same period of 2007. The highest were initiated by Turkey, followed by US and India, with nearly half directed at China.
