Dudley Hutchings takes up Independent Seat on Wool Board

Dudley Hutchings has been invited to become an Independent Member of the British Wool Marketing Board and takes his seat on the Board on April 1st 2009.
Mr Hutchings from Crowborough, East Sussex was Managing Director of a division of DHL for 10 years and has specialized in logistics. He originally trained as a mechanical engineer and during his career has been Operations Director with Booker and more recently as an Interim Director with the courier firm City Link.
He now runs his own business providing interim management, specializing in change management and logistics. Born in Liverpool, Mr Hutchings is also Chairman of the Crowborough Partnership, a non political organization which works with government and non government agencies to support the community and businesses within the market town, and which is now in the final stages of setting up a local credit union.
"This is going to be a wonderful challenge for me. I have no pre-conceived ideas about wool or the marketing of wool but I hope that my career experience will provide an independent view and perspective that will be of value to the Board's operation," said Mr Hutchings.
Mr Hutchings is one of two of the British Wool Marketing Board's Iindependent Members and takes his seat following the retirement of James Turner from Powys, mid-Wales.
