Samnam Petrochemicals declares turnaround at PTA plant

South Korea based, Samnam Petrochemicals and a manufacturer of Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) is planning to shut down operations in April, to undertake routine maintenance work. .
Fibre2fashion spoke to a company spokesperson, who confirmed the news of the shutdown by saying that it was a planned overhauling of the plant and it will restart production in the next fortnight.
The company will shut down all the production lines of PTA with a production capacity of 1.8 million tons per annum. Supplies from the company are likely to be stretched .but the company will fulfill the long term contracts.
This shut down has been planned coinciding with the shutdown planned by the power supplying station, which is also undertaking a routine maintenance work in the same period.
