Fairline to use two-sided waterproof fabric inside cockpit/bimini
Apr '09
Fairline Boats Ltd. a global leader in the design and manufacture of luxury motor yachts, has selected Sunbrella Supreme fabrics for biminis and cockpit covers on its flagship Squadron 78. The two-sided waterproof fabric from Glen Raven Custom Fabrics, LLC is also available as an option on other Fairline models.

"Sunbrella Supreme fabrics offer additional features to the usual durability, fade resistance and water resistance of Sunbrella marine fabrics," said Marie Pope, interior designer within the Fairline product design and engineering department.

"When our customers select Sunbrella Supreme in the navy/linen option -- among the most popular color combinations -- they benefit from a light-colored headliner beneath the Bimini or inside the cockpit contrasted with a dark exterior fabric that looks cleaner longer," she said.

Sunbrella Supreme combines a traditional Sunbrella marine canvas for the outer fabric face with a flocked Sunbrella fabric undernearth. The two layers, which can be the same or contrasting colors, are bonded together to form a watertight seal. Glen Raven created the fabric for yacht owners seeking distinctive aesthetics and waterproof performance.

"We choose to offer Sunbrella fabric because it is one of the most trusted and recognized brands in the marine industry," Pope said.

Founded in 1963, Fairline Boats markets its full line of luxury motor yachts through 60 dealers in 40 countries. Based in the United Kingdom, Fairline is renowned for attention to detail, luxury and performance.
