According to the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Textile Association, the domestic industry is receiving orders, originally meant for the Chinese textile exporters, due to the ongoing global crisis.
These orders could total to nearly US $648 million or 6 percent of the overall exports achieved from the textile sector in 2008. The main reason for this he said were the stable social and economic conditions in the country.
This he, said, sounded like music for an industry which has been going through depressing times ever since the economic crisis unfolded and now he expects exports to cross the $11 billion mark in 2009.
