Lulan Textile Competition at ICFF

As part of the 2009 Competition, Lulan Artisans will also launch a "Creative Commons" database, where any non-winning participant can choose to have their textile design uploaded for artisans across the world to see and use.
Lulan believes No Design Should Be Left Behind, so our Creative Commons option will enhance design availability to artisans around the world.
Lulan will announce 2009 Lulan Textile Competition at ICFF on May 18 and launches June 1 and closes midnight October 15. For detailed information on entering, see the design brief at Lulan.com after June 1.
Like the warp and weft on a loom, Lulan represents the intersection of two threads, two passions: a love and respect for design and weaving traditions of Southeast Asia, and the desire to create thriving businesses for the weavers and their communities. Eve Blossom, trained as an architect/designer, founded Lulan as a unique for-profit social venture, a creative collaboration between contemporary American textile designers and gifted Asian artisans.
