Jute sector to get incentives July onwards
Mr Siddique, Textiles & Jute Minister
The textiles and Jute Minister, Mr Siddique announced that the incentives payable to the jute sector under the earlier announced interim stimulus package will be paid out from the month of July.
Mr Siddique also said that renewal of licenses of jute dealers would be undertaken from October and not from July as was earlier announced, since the jute dealers had a tendency to manipulate jute prices.
In a meeting with representatives of the Bangladesh Jute Spinners Association (BJSA), he further said that the government had taken a lot of measures to address the issue of the jute sector.
He also promised to resolve the problem and find a solution regarding supply of quality seeds. The Finance Minister had earlier on April 19, announced a stimulus package for the industry.
