The Southern India Mills' Association (SIMA), representing the organized textile industry in South India, is organizing an international Expo, “TEXFAIR 2009”, the fifth edition in its series during July 24 – 27, 2009 at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.

Shri J.Thulasidharan, Chairman, “TEXFAIR 2009”, has informed that though the textile industry has been passing through unprecedented challenges due to global meltdown and various other problems, the Association is organizing “TEXFAIR 2009” to enable all the stakeholders to meet under one roof and prudently plan the investments and control the expenditures.

Shri Thulasidharan has informed that the Association has also scheduled to celebrate Platinum Jubilee function of the Association on 26th July 2009 at the same venue which would attract all the Managing Directors of textile mills and therefore, the Fair will have good visibility and attraction of visitors. He has further said that Thiru.Dayanidhi Maran, Hon'ble Union Minister of Textiles has already given his consent to inaugurate the Platinum Jubilee Function.

He added that the event is expected to attract around 30,000 visitors from different parts of the country and would provide an excellent opportunity for the mill people to zero in their requirements apart from re-establishing their contact with the suppliers and identifying new suppliers.

Shri Thulasidharan has said that the main objective of the exhibition is to show-case the state-of-the-art textile machinery, spares, accessories and also logistic facilities applicable to textile industry and enable all the stakeholders to update on the latest developments, needs, etc and also to encourage micro, small and medium entrepreneurs to show-case their new inventions and get exposure to the market.

“TEXFAIR 2009” Chairman has appealed to all the sectors of the textile industry to plan their visit to the fair and derive the benefits. He has also appealed to all the manufacturers, suppliers of textile machinery, spares, accessories and logistics providers to utilize the opportunity and improve their business.

He has informed that the response for the Expo is very good. He has further said that around 80% of the stalls has already been booked by almost all the leading textile machinery, spares, accessories manufacturers and suppliers. He has said that the booking will close by 4th July 2009.
