European countries and the US are the key importers of Iranian handicrafts, while last year, along with these two regions, Canada was also one of the best markets for these handicraft products.

In recent years, these products are witnessing enthusiastic demand from Asia and Africa. Amid Asian countries, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait and Lebanon, and among African countries, Tunisia, Morocco and South Africa, are the target markets for Iranian handicraft items.

Last year, the maximum export of these handicraft products was done from the provinces of Tehran, Isfahan and Hamedan. Tehran exported the highest volume of glasswear, ceramics and kilim.

Hamedan experienced the largest level of exports concerning pottery and ceramics while Isfahan exported the largest volume of inlaid works and miniature.

This shows that last year, inlaid works, kilim (a small rug), pottery, glassware, precious stones and traditional ornaments were among the most important exported Iranian handicraft items.
