The first sales for 2009/10 will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle next week, when 36,725 bales are currently rostered for sale. The present estimate for the following sale is 30,980 bales; a decrease of 25.4% over the two sale period when compared with last year. Sale 2 will be followed by the normal three week mid-season break.
As mentioned last week, the current estimated offerings for the next two weeks have fallen progressively since first notified to the trade, raising some concerns about supply in this period when meat and sheep prices are very high.
Sales are in recess in South Africa.
