According to experts from the textile industry, current times are a good opportunity to support and promote the development of non-woven fabric, along with upgrading product quality of traditional textiles.
At present non-woven industry in Shaoxing County has started to take shape and Lu-Xia town has become the country's largest production base for spun-laced non-woven fabric and is also amongst the pilot industry cluster of non-woven fabric.
A global survey indicates that per capita consumption of non-woven fabric increases with the growth of per capita GDP. In the US and Japan, per capita GDP is US $40,000 and US $30,000, respectively.
Their per capita consumption of non-woven fabric reaches 4 kg and 3 kg, respectively. China's current per capita consumption of non-woven is less than 0.6 kilograms, showing a huge gap compared with those countries, and great potential in consumption.
In addition, the global market of non-woven fabric has been expanding. China's total exports of non-woven fabric increased from 108,000 tons in 2004 to 221,000 tons in 2007, an average annual increase of 19.6 percent, reflecting that the market prospects are very good.
