According to the Chairman of the Towel Manufacturers Association of Pakistan, Mr Farrukh Maqbool, many towel producers in Pakistan are planning to shift operations and relocate their units in Bangladesh.
The biggest grouse of these towel manufacturers was the daily unscheduled power cuts that have been bearing since a long time and also due to the increase in cost of doing business, along with these power cuts.
He said, the association was disappointed with the attitude of the government which had not responded to its pleas and held the government responsible for closure of many textile units in the country.
He said, the biggest benefit of relocating to Bangladesh was the advantage of free trade access, to many big global markets and added that, one of the biggest towel manufacturing units was already in talks with Bangladeshi officials.
