Reasonable numbers of visitors at ITM-2009 - Loepfe Brothers

A major textile machinery trade fair; ITM-2009, recently concluded in Turkey. Approximately 1000 leading textile technology and machinery manufacturing companies of the world and Turkey participated and around 31,000 textile buyers including more than 4,000 foreign visitors from 59 countries visited ITM 2009 expo.

One of the major textile companies to exhibit at ITM-2009 was Loepfe Brothers Ltd, the Switzerland based company and a manufacturer of top-line electronic quality control systems and innovative and trend setting products for spinning, weaving and other applications in the textile sector.

In an exclusive interview with Fibre2fashion, Mr Elvio Re Sarto, Sales Manager at Loepfe Brothers spoke of their experience at ITM-2009. We began by asking him the about the amenities and other facilities at ITM-2009, to which he said, “ITM was quite well organized and the exhibition site was suitable enough for such event and the overall looks and arrangements were up to expectations”.

Next we asked him about their satisfaction with the number and profile of visitors, to which he replied by saying, “Visitors were not too many, but all the exhibitors at the fair were not expecting a huge participation, but at least a reasonable number of visitors have attended the fair and the profile of visitors was up to expectations as there were key people like managers and owners”.

To conclude the interview asked him whether participation at these fairs could help companies reduce impact of low demand scenario, to which he said, “Difficult to answer”, but added by saying, “The textile industry in Turkey is suffering so heavily and it is so badly affected that we were not expecting any improvements out of such exhibition, however, it is useful to participate to maintain contacts and get an updated feeling of the ground situation”.
