Spandex market firming up gradually

In Jiangsu and Zhejiang regional market, 1.4D polyester staple fiber dropped significantly on Tuesday, ex-factory price fell 100 Yuan per ton in general and now mainstream price is quoted between 9,550-9,800 Yuan per ton.

Although prices of PX fell precipitously, semi-dull chip market in Zhejiang showed stability, because the market faced no stock pressure and manufacturer's offers concentrated around 9,100-9,300 Yuan per ton.

Caprolactam price fell slightly on Tuesday, but buyers showed little interest in buying, while price of nylon slice rose marginally, though sales were light.

Acrylonitrile market shows signs of stability and ex-factory price of Sinopec was quoted at 11,000 Yuan per ton. Demand from downstream manufacturers was still dull and market is expected to move within a narrow range.

Downstream demand for acrylic fiber market has yet to emerge. Spandex market is firming up gradually and some processing enterprises and traders have started taking positions and are increasing their inventories.

Market price of viscose staple fiber rose more rapidly last week. Market price of rayon fabrics also increased in tandem with viscose staple fiber.
