Mattress Firm, one of the nation's premier specialty mattress retailers, recently selected FKM as its full-service agency of record. FKM was awarded creative and broadcast media responsibilities for the Mattress Firm brand and corporately-owned stores. More than 100 agencies were initially invited to participate in the national review.

“With Mattress Firm poised for national growth, FKM's own brand promise of taking clients from Now to Next resonated with our entire management team,” said Steve Stagner, President and COO of Mattress Firm. “What most impressed me was how FKM has truly integrated all of the agency disciplines into their process. While some agencies say they can address every need a client may have – from creative, media and search, to public relations, social media and interactive – few are putting these capabilities into practice on a daily basis like FKM. Their focus on brand transformation is the right approach for us, and they have demonstrated the know-how to accomplish this for their agency and for an impressive client roster.”

One of the largest and most successful specialty bedding retailers in the world, Houston-based Mattress Firm currently has more than 525 locations across 21 states. The company focuses on creating a unique shopping experience for the customer, which includes the ability to compare major manufacturer's offerings side-by-side, such as Tempur-Pedic and Stearns & Foster, and same-day Red Carpet Delivery Service.

“Mattress Firm is a clear market leader in the specialty bedding industry and is committed to a retail operating model that clearly distinguishes itself from others in the category,” said Tom Monroe, FKM Partner and Chief Thought Leader. “FKM is honored to be working with such an experienced and motivated retail management team, and our partnership reflects the shared values and cultures between our companies.”

As agency of record, FKM will assume strategic planning, broadcast media planning and execution, creative execution and application, public relations, and social media consultation, with new creative concepts expected to roll out after the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Houston-based Mattress Firm is one of the nation's premier specialty bedding retailers, offering a broad selection of both traditional and specialty mattresses from leading manufacturers, including Tempur-Pedic, Sealy, Simmons, Stearns & Foster and Serta. Founded in 1986, Mattress Firm's purpose is to improve lives one night at a time. With more than 525 stores across 21 states, Mattress Firm offers consumers the benefit of highly-trained, knowledgeable sales professionals, a broad product offering and competitive prices in an attractive and comfortable store environment.

FKM is a national advertising, marketing and public relations agency, with capabilities ranging from brand development, interactive marketing, print and Internet yellow pages, to search, mobile, and media buying and planning. Founded in 1980, FKM takes brands from Now to Next by propelling brands to their next stage of growth. Headquartered in Houston with offices in Dallas and Austin, the agency employs more than 200 associates and reports $260 million in annual billings. FKM clients range from Fortune 100 companies to entrepreneurial start-ups, including ConocoPhillips, Mission Foods, DriveTime, Daisy Brand, Kroger and Stewart Title.
