Prof. J.S.R. Subramaniyam, Mentor of the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP) recently visited the Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute (UPTTI) to undertake an inspection in order to check the utilization of funds allocated by the World Bank under TEQIP.
During inspection, the Professor suggested the institute officials to update library and make the book bank available for the SC/ST students too. He also emphasized on providing electronic journals to the students as they are much interested in studying journals.
He further asked the authorities of institute to upgrade the laboratories and said that the institute may put up demand more funds under the second phase of TEQIP for doing so. Prof. Subramaniyam also inspected various electronic engineering labs including Chemistry Lab and various workshops such as Fibre Technology Lab and Textile Technology Lab.
The inspection was followed by a feedback session wherein the TEQIP mentor encouraged the students for research work and emphasized on the tie-ups of the institute with various industrial groups of the city as well as asked to make changes in academic curriculum accordingly.
Moreover, he asked the institute officials to send more proposals for the progress schemes. His team expressed satisfaction on the production of textiles in the workshops of the institute.
