Hunan Huasheng Dongting Ramie Textile Co. Ltd. has developed a 660Nm super-high-count pure ramie fabric, with a weight of only 17.8 grams per square meter along with which it has developed 400Nm ramie fabric, high-quality ramie ball (raw material for high-count and super-high-count ramie fabric), high-count cotton/hemp jacquard fabric, etc.

Dongting Flax has become the only enterprise in domestic market to own independent intellectual property rights to produce high-quality ramie balls. Hunan Huasheng is a large ramie manufacturer and employs 4,000 people and has a capacity to produce 8,100 tons of yarn and 13 million meters of fabric per year.

The company spins a wide range of ramie yarn extending from 7.5nm to 72nm and also different varieties of fabrics like pure ramie, linen, blended and interwoven fabrics. Its products have won numerous awards in national and international fabric shows and are sold in Europe, South East Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Ramie is one of the oldest textile fibres and dates back to 3000 BC and it has reportedly a tensile strength which is greater by 8 times when compared with cotton and 7 times that of silk. The ramie fabric has a natural stain resisting ability and is resistant to bacteria, insects etc. It also maintains its shape after repeated launderings.
