Keeping in mind the growing demand for eco friendly textiles and hence the increase in interest for Oeko-Tex certification amongst the Indian garment exporters and raw material suppliers along the supply chain, Hohenstein India Pvt Ltd will hold two interactive seminars on 14 and 16 November 2009 in Coimbatore and Mumbai respectively.

The seminars will provide comprehensive information about the Oeko-Tex testing and certification procedures, the testing criteria and limit values as well as the impact of Oeko Tex certification on international business. Additionally, the events will also highlight other existing legislations in the USA and Europe which have to be complied by the exporters. Quality assurance representatives from all stages of textile production, buying agents and their suppliers can participate in these events.

The Oeko-Tex label reliably indicates to interested end users the additional benefit of tested safety for skin-friendly clothing, home textiles and other textile articles. In this way, the test label provides an important decision-making tool while purchasing textiles.

In addition, the Oeko-Tex certificate is considered necessary by various European buyers, and American buyers increasingly are also demanding for the same. Thus, the Oeko-Tex label is an ideal marketing tool for all who need to market their products to Europe and the USA, since it incorporates the requirements of the European legislation as well as the US laws.

Venues:
• Residency Hotel, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore, on 14 November 2009, from 10:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• The Leela Kempinski Hotel, Sahar, Mumbai, on 16 November 2009, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Hohenstein India Pvt. Ltd. is a subsidiary of the textile research and testing centre Hohenstein Institute, Germany, and is the official representative for Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and Oeko-Tex Standard 1000 certification in India and Sri Lanka. Speakers to the seminars will include qualified professionals from the International Oeko-Tex Association, Switzerland, Hohenstein Institute America, Inc., and Hohenstein Institute headquarters in Boennigheim, Germany.
