Once again, ethylene prices across worldwide markets displayed mixed trends on November 5, just like witnessed on the previous Wednesday. While prices in CFR Northeast Asia and in CFR Southeast Asia rose, those in the European markets fell and in the US markets ethylene prices moved up marginally.
Prices for CFR Northeast Asia rose from US $871-881 per metric ton recorded on October 28 to $920-930 per metric ton yesterday. Likewise, CFR Southeast prices also increased from $986-991 per metric ton to $1010-1020 per metric ton.
However, ethylene prices of FD Northwest Europe descended on Wednesday from €735.00-740.00 per metric ton to €720-725 per metric ton, while ethylene prices of CIF Northwest fell from US $920-930 per metric ton to $900-910 per metric ton.
Ethylene prices in the US which had declined on the previous Wednesday grew yesterday from US cent 31.875-32.125 per pound to US cent 32.500-32.750 per pound.
