According to figures issued by the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA), around 7.36 million bales of cotton reached the ginning mills till November 1, a rise of 40 per cent over the same period of the previous year.
The production of cotton in Punjab is 4.42 million bales, up 33.47 percent from last November, while in Sindh it stood at 2.93 million bales, an increase of 51.3 percent over the same period of the previous year.
Of the total arrivals, textile mills bought more than 5.43 million bales during the period under review while exporters purchased 462,039 bales, leaving an unsold stock of over 380,944 million bales with the ginners.
