The Industry Minister, Mr Mustapa Mohamed said that his ministry was keen to develop the fashion industry as there is enough space for growth and since it has strong linkages with the textile and apparel sector in the country.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of the 7th Malaysia International Fashion Week and said that, the ministry currently supports the fashion, textile and apparel industries by providing funding to help manufacturers in designing, export promotions and international marketing.
He also said that it was appropriate for the ministry to provide the support needed by the textile and apparel industry. A one-to-one business buyer-seller meet will also be organised on the sidelines of the fashion week.
