Oerlikon Barmag a pioneer in the field of POY technology recently installed the first of its kind large scale POY direct spinning which incorporates WINGS technology, in a textile unit located in the Union Territory of Daman.
The machine has 288 positions and is equipped with Evo Quench quenching systems and covers a broad production window and has the capability to produce micro-filaments ranging between 75 denier to 400 denier.
As a result of the plug-and-play units, spinning systems equipped with WINGS technology, can be assembled and commissioned considerably faster than conventional systems. The company expects to install another 192 position machine with the same technology in India.
The world's first WINGS production system with 12 positions was commissioned in India and a large-scale 144-position system was commissioned in China too in 2009.
