Specialty chemicals see growth potential in textile industry
28
Nov '09
Specialty chemicals possess high value and are manufactured in low volume. These speciality chemicals normally have performance enhancing properties.

During the process of manufacture, textiles go through various chemical treatments. This includes pretreatment, dyeing, and refinement of textiles.

Special chemicals which have properties of flame retardants and water repellents are used in this process. Additives, adhesives, corrosion inhibitors, dyes, lubricants, and pigments are a few to name.

Growing demand in expectations from customers and distinct performance requirements in the end user industries require focus on providing product and application know-how to the ultimate consumers.

Attempts made by businesses to come up with innovative solutions, in turn create a market for specialty chemicals.

Market for specialty chemicals is concentrated in US, EU, and Japan with the future growth potential seen brightly in Asian countries. Growth rate in the economy of these countries and improvement in the consumer's lifestyle will bring in an increasing demand for these performance enhancing chemicals.
