The East European country of Bulgaria reported a big dip in exports of textiles and clothing in the first nine months of the current year. Exports from the sector plummeted by a jaw-dropping 21 percent, when corresponded with the same period of the previous year.
Reacting to the massive drop, Valeria Zhekova, Chairperson of the Bulgarian Association of Apparel and Textile Producers and Exporters, said that, this 21 percent drop was not so large, considering that, other sectors reported a decrease, twice as big.
These figures were revealed at a conference organised by the Bulgarian Association of Apparel and Textile Producers and Exporters and German Society for Technical Cooperation, which was attended by representatives of more than 1,000 companies.
