According to just released customs data, in November 2009, textile and garment export value reached US $13.96 billion, down 9.5 percent year on year, of which, textile exports registered $5.366 billion, an increase of 7.4 percent year on year, while apparel exports fetched $8.593 billion, down 17.6 percent year on year.
In November, the growth rate in exports of textile and garments decreased by 4.7 percent, when compared with that in October, of which textiles increased 1.4 percent and clothing fell 8.2 percent.
From January to November, total textile and garment exports realized $150.25 billion, down 11.4 percent year on year. Among them, textile exports achieved $53.76 billion, down 11.2 percent year on year and apparel exports scored $96.49 billion, down 11.6 percent year on year.
In November, export decline of textile and garment exports narrowed compared with October, of which the decrease in textile exports was much lesser than in garment shipments.
