According to Nanjing Customs, textile and garment exports via Jiangsu port achieved monthly annual growth for the first time in November since the beginning of this year.
November exports reached US $160 million, an increase of 2.7 percent year on year, So far this year, exports of textiles and clothing have realized $1.72 billion, down 15.1 percent compared with the same period last year.
From January to November, textile and garment exports via Jiangsu ports to emerging markets like India, Saudi Arabia, Russia and United Arab Emirates, achieved double-digit growth year on year.
Exports to these four markets account for only 6.2 percent of total exports and taotal to $110 million. While textile and garment exports via Jiangsu ports to the EU, the United States and Japan, accounting for a total of 52.9 percent, dropped 7.9 percent, 23.2 percent and 17.3 percent, respectively.
