Since several spinning companies have already gone into the Christmas holidays, only scattered enquiries for Upland-cotton were received mostly related to the short-term need of small quantities. Yet, the LS/ELS business still remained interesting although the number of enquiries had also slightly decreased in comparison to the previous week.
Central Asian descriptions were sold for near dates and for the 1st quarter 2010. West African cotton was traded for delivery right after the holidays as well as for the beginning of the New Year.
Contracts for the following LS/ELS-descriptions were closed for delivery during the 1st quarter 2010: Giza 86 + 88, Sudan Barakat, Israel Pima and US Pima.
