The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) is mulling to unveil a slew of initiatives, which it hopes will help create 30,000 jobs for women in the textile sector. The textile division of the JCCI is framing the plan.

This plan hopes to achieve huge employment potential for women in embroidery, sewing and fashion design. This was announced at a function to announce the final results of a competition for women to help them develop skills in the textile sector.

Out of more than 100 entries, 20 finalists were short-listed for the first, second and third positions to be declared later, for a total prize money of Sr 150,000. The Saudi textile and garment sector attracts around Sr 2 billion each year.
