Udhyog-2010 to showcase textile prowess of Surat

The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) will hold a five-day business event, 'Udhyog-2010' in the month of March, this year, at the newly-constructed international trade-cum-convention centre in Sarsana, near Surat.

This is the seventh biennial business event being organized by SGCCI in collaboration with The Office of the Textile Commissioner and offers opportunity to explore business in textile and diamonds in Surat in the state of Gujarat.

To promote the development of man-made fibre industry in the city by bringing in the latest technology and to offer an insight into the varied investment opportunities in trade, industry and service sectors of the region, are the key objectives behind organizing this leading industrial exhibition of the country.

Industry giants, including Reliance, Essar, Adani and other corporate companies both, domestic and international, dealing in textile, textile engineering, banking, finance, corporate and embroidery sectors will take part in the event.

SGCCI intends to offer a separate pavilion of 25,000 sq. ft. to exhibit various stages of textile industry i.e. from fibre to fashion. The organization targets to introduce digital printing machinery for the textile industry which is completely a new avenue for the textile sector.

The new international trade-cum-convention centre in Sarsana covers a total area of 116,000 sq. ft., wherein the exhibition place occupies 65,000 sq. ft. area. Around 157 exhibitors will participate in the exhibition that will open on March 12 and end on March 16.
