Cuba's social security network provides and guarantees employment to disabled people. Towards meeting the objectives, it runs around 150 training centres across the country.
These people are provided training in making handicrafts from paper and textiles that have proved to be popular in the country and in the process provides remunerative employment to these people.
The provinces with the highest number of workshops are located in Havana city with 21 centres, Villa Clara 16 and Matanzas and Santiago de Cuba with 15 centres each.
