As on Feb 15, 2010, arrival of cotton bales stood at 12.6 million bales in the current cotton season. This figure is higher by 1.5 million bales or 13.3 percent from the arrivals recorded by the same date in the previous season.
Export of cotton till Feb 15 touched 795,148, against 293,665 bales recorded last year in the same period. The off-take by the domestic textile industry was 11.2 million bales. This figure stood at 9.33 million bales till the same date.
Total unsold stock was 611,819 bales and fortnightly flow of cotton bales to ginners in the first fifteen days of February was 104,331 bales as per a Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) report.
