Crafts Fair opens in Tamil Nadu

For all those who love craft works have an opportunity to explore their interest at 'Crafts Mela' that started on Friday at Moghal Hall in Moghalrajapuram in Tamil Nadu. The Mela has been organized by 'Poompuhar' the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited for publicizing the beautiful artwork made by the tribal artisans.

The exhibition offers different products from all the parts of the country with a special discount of 10 percent on all products and a chance to see them made in front of your eyes.

The products exhibited here are Sugundi Sarees from Madurai, Ghagra cholis from Gujarat, Rangoli sarees and bed sheets from Rajasthan, paintings, woodcarvings, lamps and lampshades made of brass, art plates and paintings from Tanjore, artefacts made of stones and pebbles and many more as told to media by Mr.D.Rajendran, Manager of the exhibition.

In the inaugural function of the event, Ms MV Ratna Bindu the Mayor of the city was present as Chief Guest accompanied by Deputy Mayor Mr SP Gritton. The Mayor appreciated the effort of the organizers and she herself was fascinated by the work of artisans.
