The textile and clothing export sector in Thailand is forecasting shipments to grow by 10-15 percent in the current year, thanks to a new initiative of regionally integrating the capabilities, which has led to strengthening of export competitiveness.
An alliance has been formed between 10 member countries of the ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries (AFTEX) and ASEAN Competitiveness Enhancement, which is funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
The main objective of this initiative is to promote capabilities and ensure synergy of enterprises in the region to promote exports by effective pairing of local manufacturers and buyers from within the 10 countries over a three-year period.
According to an expert, by taking part in this project, manufacturers and exporters can optimize operations across the value-supply chain, reduce cost, increase production efficiency, rollout quality products and ensure timely delivery.
