The National Handicraft Office, as a part of its marketing and expansion policy for handicraft production has recently published a new handbook called 'Artisans of Tunisia: Skillful hands'.
The handbook is based on examples, information and other data regarding the Tunisian handicrafts and includes basic information regarding professionals and designers from all over the country who offer high-class products.
As per the statistics provided by the National Handicrafts Office, currently, there are around 28,000 artisans in the governorate of Gafsa, who are known for making ethnic carpets such as 'Mergoum Boussaid' and 'Clim'. The figures depicted, include both permanent and seasonal artisans.
It is mentioned in the 9th edition of the National Handicrafts Office news letter that, there are around 41 companies in Gafsa, of which three, partially export textile products with the help of over 526 skilled workers.
