Polyester composite filament market declines sharply
11
May '10
In the last week, polyester composite filament market for the first time declined sharply in trade volume, due to the double impacts of weakened polyester filament market and sluggish sales of relevant fabrics in downstream sector. Market price slightly fell by about 100-200 Yuan per ton on average.

Referring to price trend, offers of (DT flat drawn + POY) 50+50 fell to 13,400-13,500 Yuan / ton. (DT flat drawn + POY) 100 +50,100 +75,100 +100,100 +125 were priced at 13,000 Yuan/ ton, 12,700 Yuan/ton, 12,400 Yuan/ton and 12,300 Yuan/ton, respectively. Each fell 200 Yuan / ton compared with the previous week.

Currently polyester products generally appear weak, procurement from downstream sector is delayed. Market believes that polyester composite filament will continue its weakness, as present purchasing power is insufficient, but does not rule out a rebound in broader polyester filament market.
