Turkey deemed as textile industrial hub

Several domestic as well as global firms are coming together at the 16th Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition (EVTEKS) as many reckon Turkey as the industry and textile hub.

The exhibition would provide participants with an opportunity to have a glimpse at the upcoming season's collection and it will also portray new fashion trends, while allowing the visitors to explore newer innovations and introductions in the industry.

It is believed that this fair will be scheduled simultaneously with other fashion trade events of the country like Istanbul Fashion Week (IFW) and Collection Premier Istanbul (CPI).

The reason that Istanbul has been picked for this event is that, the city, with its tactical and geographic positioning, is quite an appealing place for organizing such an event. And Turkey per say, has the geographical location that is just perfect for organizing such fairs and trade events.

In addition, the companies participating in the exihibition have fabulous collections and are competent enough to produce bulk collections for mass usage within no time.

However, the nation is yet not counted in par with other European fashion countries like Italy, France and Spain. It is believed that this trade event would extend an opportunity to the country to trade its textile collections in these unexplored markets.

While comparing Paris and Istanbul, it is said that, Paris is a fashion hub, whereas Istanbul is a textile production hub.

This year, around 700 companies are partaking in the 16th EVTEKS fair and of this 100 companies have global presence. The trade event is to conclude on May 23. This show will introduce new designs in home textiles and will also offer opportunities to perk up trade relations.
