The Government of India will host the World Cotton Research Conference-5 in Mumbai from November 7-11, 2011. The Indian Society for Cotton Improvement will serve as the primary host of the Conference. The National Organizing Committee has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Dr. C. D. Mayee, Chairman of the Indian Society for Cotton Improvement. Dr. Shankar Sreenivasan will serve as the Organizing Secretary of the WCRC-5.
Once you have pre-registered, you become eligible to receive all forthcoming information on WCRC-5. A package with full registration, including hotel booking, will be available in early 2011, and will be mailed to you if you have pre registered for the Conference.
The WCRC-5 is a unique opportunity for researchers from all over the world to meet and discuss production research issues. The theme of the WCRC-5 is "Technologies for Prosperity".
International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) is an association of governments of cotton producing, consuming and trading countries. The Committee was formed in 1939, and the Secretariat was established in 1946. The annual budget is US$1.7 million, of which about 85% come from government assessments and 15% from the sale of subscriptions and participant fees at meetings and seminars. There are eleven members of the secretariat representing ten countries; all work from one office in Washington. Documents are published in English, French and Spanish, monthly summaries are available in Russian and annual summaries are available in Arabic and Russian.
