The Embassy of Pakistan in Jakarta intends to organize, the first ever, Pakistani carpet exhibition in Indonesia. The exhibition will showcase exclusive Pakistani carpets in Indonesia and is aimed towards attracting domestic consumers on a larger scale as also draw the attention of senior government functionaries, large number of expatriates and diplomatic communities towards Pakistani carpets.

A meeting of major Pakistani carpet dealers was recently held to discuss about the necessary arrangements that are to be made for the exhibition and this meeting was chaired by Ambassador Sanaullah.

The exhibition that will be held in the coming two months would prove to be a substantial platform, for Pakistani carpet dealers, to expand their market and promote their products in Indonesia, said the Ambassador.

He further said that, these carpets describe culture and lifestyle of Pakistan, while designs and colours on them give an idea about the country's weaver's creativity, through which the Indonesians and other foreigners could have an insight on the cultural heritage of Pakistan.

Pakistani carpet dealers are already dominating Jakarta's carpet business. These dealers have outlets spread across the Indonesian capital. The hand-woven carpets of Pakistan are well in demand in Indonesia for their exceptional designs and fine knitting, followed by Iranian carpets, which also experience good demand in the country.
