Book on Textile Preparation & Dyeing released at SDC Annual Conference

The seventh international conference of Society of Dyers and Colourist titled EVOLVING MAZE IN COLORATION was held at ITC Grand Maratha in Mumbai on 4th June 2010 and 5th - 6th June at Hotel Residency Coimbatore.
The conference was attended by captions of the industry, Senior Technologists -Management Executives, Entrepreneurs in textile processing, Processing and Production Managers. The chief guest for this years conference was Mr Manish Kiri Chairman Dystar Limited. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Mr John Morris President SDC UK, M/S Susie Hargreeves Chief Execuitve SDC UK and Mr Dilip Jeevrajka Managing Director Alok Industries Limited. The key note address was delivered by Mr Rahul Mehta Managing Director Creative Garments Private Limited. A joint collaboration initiated by Alok Industries and Dystar India Private Limited with the support of SDC called - Advanced Academy For Development of Textile Technologists { AADTT } was declared open in the conference by Mr Dilip Jeevrajka - Managing Director of Alok Industries.
The salient features of AADTT are the tie up with the leading academic institutions aimed at creating finest industry professionals. To start with eight students have been enrolled for this course from ICT Mumbai, Govt College of Technology Sreerampoore Calcutta, DKTE Ichalkaranji and PSG College of Technology Coimbatore. On this momentous occasion a book on Textile Preparation and Dyeing authored by Prof Asim Roy Choudhary was released by Mr Dilip Jeevrajka.
Medals and Fellowships of the society were conferred to the following industry professionals for their recognition and achievements in the field of colouration.

Prof Robert Christie, an authority on colour chemistry and technology in the school of textile design at Heriot – Watt University, Scotland UK, gave an excellent presentation on colours and future developments in colouration.
Mr Stepen Schlosser from Clariant International Limited Switzerland gave a nice over view of the historical aspects of Pigment printing, Thickeners, Pigment dispersions, Binders, Softeners and External cross linkers.
Dr Vijay Habbu – Vice President Polyester Division – Reliance Industries Limited chaired the first panel discussion on Sustainability and Ecology. The panel members present were;
