Reaffirming its position as a specialised fashion, functional and eco fabrics trade event, Interstoff Asia Essential will take place this autumn, from 6 to 8 October 2010 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. Since 1987, the fair has been a popular business destination providing inspiration and innovation for the international apparel fabrics and garment industries.

The fair is expected to attract around 6,000 visitors. These visitors will include decision-makers from top retail brands, boutiques, department stores, fashion designers and other industry traders.

bluesign technologies, once again partner of Interstoff Asia will host a special eco area. bluesign is an industry standard providing comprehensive production analyses, networking and optimisation for textile suppliers focusing on sustainable production.

“We are encouraged by the increasing eco awareness within the industry and for us, partnering with bluesign technologies a.g., has been a natural choice. A new area, called the bluesign LAB is a great opportunity for suppliers to promote products that qualify for the bluesign standard of ecological manufacturing,” said Ms Wendy Wen, Trade Fair Director for Messe Frankfurt (HK).

Ms Wen further notes: “At the same time, being in such close proximity to mainland China, Interstoff Asia, is a great platform to showcase new, fresh and exciting textiles to Southern Chinese buyers as well as international traders.”

Textile exports from Hong Kong to China up nearly 13% in 2010
The first quarter of 2010 recorded a 12.7 percent rise in textile exports from Hong Kong to China. To accommodate this increase, fair organisers will once again invite delegations from several industry associations around China.

“The products displayed at the fair are most impressive, especially the functional fabrics. Many of our delegates are eager to attend this autumn and we hope to bring more members than the previous edition,” commented Ms Wu Xiaoming, Secretary General for the Guangzhou Clothing Trade Association in China.

In addition to connecting with new Chinese buyers, participants will also benefit from the crossover of industry professionals attending the 26th annual IAF World Apparel Convention, running 5 – 7 October 2010. Hundreds of C-level executives, managers and industry heavyweights from around the world are expected to take part in this year's convention.
