Lindström announced the formal launch of their Mumbai operations. Lindström offers specialized full workwear services starting from design to final disposal of workwear as well as maintenance of workwear helping clients improve their corporate image.

Operating in 19 countries worldwide, Lindström is expanding operations in India at a rapid pace. Following a successful foray into the India market in 2007, with their launch in Chennai, and now that Mumbai operations are in full swing, Lindström's India agenda is starting operations in Delhi, with Hyderabad next in the pipeline.

“Our immediate strategy in India is to expand our network. We are looking at partnering companies across the board - the growing pharmaceutical and health care industries, traditional engineering, automotive and electronic manufacturing, service sector operators, etc irrespective of the size. With our long experience in these areas, our objective is to provide value added solutions with regards to workwear services to make their everyday lives easier”, said Juha Laurio, President and CEO Lindström.

Anupam Chakabarty, Business Unit Manager, Lindström Mumbai, added that “Being a unique proposition aimed at improving the corporate image of clients vide workwear and its management, a lot of organisations – both large companies as well as small owner driven start-ups have welcomed our services seeing this as a means of not only improving corporate image by maintaining highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene but also enhancing the morale of their employees.”

Added Juha Laurio, “The Indian market offers us huge growth potential as we have seen a very positive acceptability of outsourced service proposition in India, so that companies can then focus on their core competence areas.”

Service competence is Lindström's strength. Lindström offers clients turnkey solutions and works with clients to conceptualize workwear design, take into account the sector's special needs and occupational safety; sourcing the required material and then on to manufacturing, fitting, customisation, deliveries, storage, washing and repair and maintenance. Lindström's locker service is a very popular way of acquiring a completely outsourced and efficient solution for a company that has employees who must wear uniforms.

Lindström is the leader in workwear services in all the markets it operates in, and the company's strategic objective is to be the first one in the marketplace – creating a new workwear service market by building on its unique concept.

Environmental Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility
An environmentally responsible organization, Lindström has various initiatives in place for waste water management and documenting energy, quality and consumption of washing chemicals and water consumption. The details are published in Lindström's annual sustainability report, which is done in compliance with the G3 standard of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). Reducing its carbon footprint is high on Lindström's agenda globally.
