FICCI & NITRA to co-host seminar on protective textiles

Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Office of the Textile Commissioner is organizing an interactive workshop on Protective Textiles.

This will provide an excellent platform for bringing together Manufactures, Users and decision makers.NITRA (Centre of Excellence for Protech) is the Knowledge Partner for this workshop.

Day & Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2010
Time: 10 am – 5 pm.
Venue: Mayfair Banquets, 254-C, Dr. Annie Besant Road, Worli, Mumbai - 30

Protech is an ensemble of textile products and related material used in the manufacture of various protective clothing for personnel working in hazardous environment.

The protective clothing includes garments and related paraphernalia for protection from harmful chemical environment, extreme temperature environments, low visibility, ballistic protection, etc. The technical textile products covered under Protech are:

•Protective Textiles for defence and para- military forces.
•Fire retardant fabrics: Opportunities & Challenges.
•Fire retardant apparel: Potential & Limitation in Heavy Engineering Industries, Iron and Steel plant.

Representatives from Defence, Airport Authority of India, Fire department, Railway, Police among others will present the users perspective at this workshop.
