Weak trend continues in nylon FDY

In the just concluded week, Nylon FDY yarn in Shengze market continued on a weak trend, due to further decline of upstream raw materials. It was reported that nylon FDY40D/12F, 70D/24F, 140D/48F, 210D/36F fell in varying degrees, of which, semi-dull FDY70D/24F dropped to 26,000 Yuan / ton.

According to operators, the reasons behind the decline of nylon FDY yarn prices were that prices of raw materials dropped and demand shrank as supply of FDY products was abundant. Although nylon yarn market performed weak, there were still some bright spot in transactions.

Such as current sales of 40D nylon-6FDY have rebounded, as the product is mainly used in production of high-density nylon taffeta fabrics. In addition, downstream weaving factories are producing "scarf voile" fabrics at full rate, so sales of semi-dull nylon monofilament are also picking up.

Among them, one is named "nylon voile"; which is favored by domestic and foreign buyers. The fabric is in width of 160cm and weight of 50-55 grams per meter, the trading price of its gray fabric ranges between 1.45 to 1.55 Yuan/ meter.

Judging from lower reaches, market shares of nylon taffeta, nylon Taslan and other woven fabrics are on the rise, but current trade volumes are slowing down. It looks difficult for nylon filament market to achieve big improvement in the short term.

However, nylon fabric market will be better after August, while demand of nylon-6FDY in Shengze region will amplify.
