Dow Corning Corporation, a leading supplier of innovative silicone solutions for the textiles industry, is a main sponsor of Shanghai Sevens – a fully-sanctioned rugby tournament that will take place during the first weekend in September. The event is integrated as part of a larger International Rugby Board Asian Rugby Sevens Series with events in cities across Asia.

“Dow Corning is proud to help bring the residents of Shanghai this exciting tournament,” said Charlie Zimmer, Dow Corning Textile Global Market Leader. “We enthusiastically support athletes and are proud to provide products that can impact players in various sports.”

Dow Corning Silicone Textile Printing Inks provide durable screen-printed designs that look great, feel soft and don't crack, fade or run.

“Rugby is a tough sport,” Charlie Zimmer, Dow Corning Textile Global Marketing Manager said. “But, Dow Corning makes textile printing inks that are suitable for high-performance sports apparel made from most natural and synthetic fabrics, including elastic fabrics.”

The silicone inks, according to Mr. Zimmer, provide cost-effective, optimal coverage and allow for a variety of unique special effects.

The Shanghai Sevens tournament, which will be sanctioned by the China Rugby Football Union and the Asian Rugby Football Union, will have up to 12 international teams participating which will be drawn from Asian National Rugby Unions and are expected to include China, Japan, China Hong Kong, and Singapore among others.

Dow Corning offers a comprehensive selection of proven silicone-based performance enhancers and process aids for textiles and is breaking new ground in the realm of eco-innovation. In addition to materials, the company provides supportive services and solutions tailored to the specific business and sustainability needs of the global textiles industry.
