PX continues to climb, ethylene trends steady

Paraxylene continued to hover at high level in S E Asian market. Prices of PX jumped to US $885-890 / ton, Korean markets PX traded in the range of $870-8750 / ton.
Offers for PX August delivery stood at $870 / ton. In Rotterdam market, PX price hovered in the range of $890-895 / ton, while in US market it was around $885 / ton.
PTA remained bullish. PTA imported from Korea, maintained price around $840 / ton. PTA in S E Asia hovered around $860 / ton, but was mainly traded in the range of $855-857 / ton.
Ethylene price grew at slow and steady pace in S E Asian market and was quoting in the range of $796-800 / ton. Ease of availability was still major concern for buyers, but the recent mishap at Formosa supported sentiment of sellers.
In MEG, price discussion was at $715 / ton, whereas offers increased to $720 / ton and bonded goods were assessed around $725 / ton at Chinese ports. It was confirmed that one deal of bonded goods closed at $720 / ton.
In tandem with upstream, price of FG PET Chips increased to $1070-1090 / ton, but was mainly traded around $1080 / ton.
